A year ago today I was in LA attending the Design Bloggers Conference. What an amazing experience I had making new friends, listening to fabulous speakers, and learning tons of wonderful information! I decided not to attend this year’s conference (it’s going on right now!). Instead I’m utilizing the information gained from last year’s conference and growing Jana Hunter Interiors! But it’s always fun going down memory lane…
The stage was perfectly set in the beautiful ballroom at the Biltmore Hotel. This hotel hosted the Academy Awards in the late ’30′s!
Incredible detail!
I met Martyn Lawrence Bullard from the famed Million Dollar Decorators tv show! He was the first keynote speaker and a true delight!
And we all know by now I met Bunny Williams here!!! (Eyes closed and all!) No words…simply amazing! I’m still pinching myself after one year!
She was the keynote speaker for the second day but stopped by to listen to Martyn!
Champagne was served not once but twice thanks to Adam Japko, president of Digital Sherpa. He has a fabulous wine blog called Wine Zag!
And here is Annie Selke, the creative genius behind Pine Cone Hill, Dash and Albert Rug Company, and Annie Selke Home! You’ll be seeing several of her fabrics in an upcoming client’s bedroom! She autographed and gave her book, Fresh American Spaces, to all attendees!
Bunny’s furniture line, Bunny Williams Home, was featured at Habersham showroom. This party was hosted by Traditional Home magazine!
Another party was hosted by Grace Home Furnishings!
And well known interior designer and fellow Kappa sister at the University of Arkansas, Tobi Fairley, won best blog at the conference! Be sure to check out Tobi’s blog if you have not already discovered it!
I also met, Erin, who writes House of Turquoise (I may have mentioned her before!) She has become a dear friend. She’s not attending this year either, so we can reminisce together!
Although this conference was an experience I’ll never forget, at the end of the day, THIS is what truly matters!!!
I only hope all those in attendance this year have the most joyful and learning experience as I did last year!
Enjoy the day!
